Science Road Show

Hey we got science road show down at Tamaki Collage and it is going to be awesome.
on Thursday we went the science road show down at Tamaki Collage. The teachers told us that there is going to be different activity to do there. We left at around 12 to go to the science road show.

As we got to Tamaki Collage we walked into the hall and sat on the other side of the hall. We notice that we can see the other year 7 and 8 on the other side of the hall siting down in there sets. when we sat down inside the hall there were sign's standing on the side of the devices and technology that we are gonna learn about.

There were some experiment that liked and the first experiment I liked was when the road show started they talked about how gas , Water , and our body's. We were talking about a liquid gas and other technology that's about science. A lady poured in the liquid into the box of blue water and the water was rising and it settled down and changed color's into yellow.

The next experiment was a about can you melt steel with just fire or melt steel with a lot of fire. First they used the fire to melt the steel but it didn't work than they melted it with fire that was coming out of a silver metal object. than the steel melted.
Than it was time to go look for the different activity around the tamaki hall. So we all got an little card so when we finish clicking them we put it in a little box. So we ran around and we looked on the list of the card there were three different things. I couldn't remember the first and the second but the last experiment was about to balls on top hanging on a string with water. and on the bottom there is 2 balls in the circle containers with no water. the top ones were swinging to the sides of the container and the bottom ones were swinging in the middle of the container.

It was really fun learning about different experiments about different technology's.

Sound

Sound is made from different volumes and beats. The sound vibrate through to your ear drums and travels through to little hairs which sends converted electrical signals to your brain. Sound goes through the wires of the earphones. Air molecules is two or more atoms to perform a element. Sound helps people to use echolocation to contact things from afar. The sounds of the amplitude is rising or setting the sound volumes of the sound devices.

Sound waves travel in through the wires when it reaches the top it goes threw the little holes on the Radio and it will let the beat out. Sound wave travel through lots of different devices like mp3 player, radio and Ipads. Frequency of the waveband radio signals are transmitted to the high pitch and lower pitch sound waves.

Most people say sound can only travel through inner atmosphere?. We have natural medium in our world but out in the solar system there is no natural medium. So Astronauts contact by useing eletromagnetic energy. Also electromagnetic energy does not need a medium to communicate.

Quiz Steven Adams

Steven Funaki Adam is 20 years old and plays National Basketball  for Oklahoma City Thunder team but most people call him Steven Adams. His big sister is Valerie Adam a famous shot putter in the National Olympics. Steven has 3 sibling including him Valerie Adams the famous shot putter and Warren Adams.

Sisilia Echolocation

Did you know that Animals and Evan humans who are blind uses Echolocation?
Echolocation is like sound waves bouncing back to you from an object. Bats use Echolocation to hunt down the flying objects like a bird. Bats are not blind but they are very good listeners. Different animals can use echolocation even humans. Some humans who are blind can also use echolocation to tell where they're going and where things are.

Ben Underwood was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 2 then he had is eyes removed at the age of three. Daniel Kish taught Ben at the age of five echolocation. He detects objects by making clicking sounds with his tongue. he even uses echolocation while he is outside playing. He plays different kind of sports outside like rollerblading , Basketball with his brother and even riding a bicycle. Echolocation helps Ben even to play games on his device. Ben just moved to his new house and he used echolocation around his new house.

Bats have big hears and they are really excellent listeners. Bats use echolocation to find there objects flying from afar. Bat also use there eyes to see where the object is but they mainly use there ears to hear them so that the bats can hunt them down. echolocation is like when bats squeal the sound goes and bounces back to it. So its like sound waves going out and it hits a object and it comes back to the bats. Thats when bats know where they are.

So Ben uses echolocation to find his way around the house. So when he walks around the house he does clicking noises with his tongue so that the sound wave goes and then the sound can bounce back to him just like bats. They use there big ears to detect where is the flying object moving. So some humans can use echolocation if their blind. Even swimming object can use echolocation  under water.

Immersion Assembly 2014

On the beginning of term we had Immersion Assembly.
Immersion Assembly is about teacher's dressed up in diffident costumes and acting. For term 2 our topic this term is Sound's so we going to learn about what make's sound's and how do it come out of music device's like headphone's ,phones and mp3 players.

So Walking into  Assembly  hall with my class there were balloon's hanging around and there was a little toy car that was tied up with balloon's to see if it can rise to the the sealing. So as they added more and more balloon's it when up to the sealing.  And we sat down and got ready to see the team 1,2,3,4 and 5.

As everybody was setted Mr Burt was talking to us about what is our topic this term is about. Than Mr Burt prayed about everybody's safe when they go home and having a happy day. And we all said"Amen". Mr Burt said" It's team 1 term yea". There movie was about the zoo like diffident kind of animals and what does animal's eat.

My favourite Performance was team 5 there did sound's there had there own instrument's and Mr Bark's had a big one it was funny. Watching the teacher's performance was cool and entertaining. So our topic this year is sound's. So we are going to find out about sound's and science.
