What Is Really In Our Food: Eggs

Report
Caged hens

New Zealanders eat 920,000,000 eggs per year.

Caged hens cages are on an angle so that the eggs can roll down onto a conveyor belt. Theres a lack of space in the cages for them to move around.

Hens can’t exercise because they live in a cage with 6 hens. They use electric wires so the hens won't escape and they won’t get their own eggs. They put color in their feed to make the yolk (yellow part) more lighter.

There is no nutritional difference  between white eggs and brown eggs. Cage eggs are more cheaper than free range or barn eggs. The protein in cooked eggs is better than raw. Unrefrigerated eggs can last up to 3 weeks.

Free range chickens lay their eggs in a shed but they are free to run around outside. Cooked eggs have protein  and it is better than raw . Free range eggs cost more than cage eggs.

Free range eggs can run around outside and dust path there feathers. Some chickens feathers come off and when the chickens feathers grow they can lay eggs again. free range chickens eggs yolk have dark orange. feed chickens  have more color in there yolk.

All cage free are all fresh but not the same. chickens eta mix grain and grass. Dark yolk haves more flavour. Free range eggs are definitely a better choice. Free range eggs are so good for you there not only  nutritious but you can feel good about where eggs came from.
