Good Friends

Good friends like to laugh, talk and tell secret to each other. They are someone that we can share our stupidest and embarrassing moments. The one thing I like about my friends we have different personalities. We like to hang out every weekends and go places like swimming pools and each others house.

My friends are empathetic they help in different kind of ways. Always understand how I feel and cares for me when I'm sad. They act like their selves when they are around me. When I am upset I can always go to them because they always listen to what I have to say. Friends are mates that we hang around with on our spare times and go to birthdays or to each others houses. If we had no friends their well be no one to talk to and share secrets or hang out. Best friends are tight and shares stuff with each other.

Good friends can also be your cousin, Auntie or your mum and dad. Some of the people I know their best friend is their pet dog or cat so a good friend can be anyone. Its always fun to have a good friend around you so that you can have fun. A good friend trusts you and want spread rumors and will always be there for you. Its always have a person that you can trust and be your best friend.

Future Aspiration

We quickly got seated and everybody was silent. We started with a prayer and finished with Amen. Mr Burt start off with a Korero about future Aspiration , about what are we going to do in the future?and  whats our dreams!. So Andrew Patterson is here with some people who succeed.

Andrew Patterson  finished his korero and watched a short film about a year 9 in Manurewa collage. Ivana speaks and encourage's people to chase their dreams. He talked about how his school is doing good and his grades are getting higher because he has listened more. He never thought they he will be paid for speaking to people on stage.

There were three presenters Amelia , Anthony and Paula 

But one of my favorites was Paula. He talk to many year 7 &8 about future Aspiration and he told us a story about when he was in school. Back in school the pools will always be open on a very hot day.

He went swimming and he will always have races with his friends in the pool. They had to swim to the deep side and back to the shallow part. So they kicked off and they started splashing water and swimming fast as they can to win. As they got tired they started slowing down and Paula started walking in the water and won the race.

They picked him to be in the swimming team for there school and they went to the a pool near there school and got changed and ready it looked really fancy. There were different schools there and Paula was very sure that he's going to win because he had a special weapon.

He was all ready in his togs and waiting until the empire say's go" .He snapped the wood and they dived in. There were swimming as fast as they could back and back. As they got to the middle of the pool the swimmers started slowing down.

As they were slowing down he tried to walk but as he put both legs onto the ground he couldn't reach the bottom of the water and it was to deep and started drowning and lifeguards swam and carried him out. It was one of his embarrassing moments. And her friends were laughing at him.

As he was telling us the story he was doing funny actions to it. It was really cool listening to there stories about there future.

Lydia ko

Lydia ko is aNew Zealand professional golfer who has toured around the countries and also won Women golfer. She is an amazing inspiring golfer who has won the top-rank woman. Ko is the youngest golfer that has competed in the golfer championship tournaments.

At the age of five her mum takes her to a golf club called pupuke golf club.  Lydia has won two LPGA Tour events in August 2013 and she has taken part of the 25 professional tournament and has never missed a cut. March 2005  Lydia ko was seven years old when she first started getting popular for her golfing.

Rip current

In New Zealand we have the highest drowning rates so its important to keep safe in a Rip. If you are in a Rip the first thing is to don’t Panic. So never swim alone because if something dangerous happens and you also panic you can get dragged under that Rip.

Life guards put out the 2 flags for a reason so stay between the flags because its safe.If you are caught in the rip don’t panic because most people drown and even die from panicking in the rip its important to don’t panic.

Do you know how a rips for?

Rip is like a stream full of water that pushes water out and away from the shore. So if the rip pushes you away  and you're trying to get back to shore put your one hand up and wait for the lifeguards to come and get you. Rips are hard to get out of so you should know rules when you are in a rip.

How do you identify a rip?

When you are getting drifted away and you’re trying to swim back to shore thats when you know you’re in a rip.  When water are hitting the shore and on the same time water drifting away thats when you know its a rip. Rips are unsafe to be around so its important you swim near the shore and away from rips.

What to do when you are caught in a rip?

When you are caught in a rip don’t try to swim back just wait until someone grabs you. Don’t panic because you might drown and die from rips. If you are caught just wait until the waves finally stop and then you can swim back. 

If you go to a family picnic on the beach always swim when their adults close to you so they can pull you in. Its important that you swim where lots of people are. So you can tell your parents or someone who's taking you to the beach about whats a rip current.

Empathy

Walking around the corridors of school I see a lot of unkind people pushing and saying mean things. Now its time people should show empathy.  It would be a good time for people to put themselves in other peoples shoes and know how it feels in life for them to come to school everyday with an unhappy face. Its important to be respectful to other people around and show kindness because empathy means understanding how someone else is feelings.

This is different ways that you can show empathy. Understanding someone having a hard time in school or someone unhappy about something bad happened. Sharing with someone there emotional secrets and feelings. Showing kindness in school and caring about how other people treat people around them. Helping a teacher out will really kind and showing how much you care about others.

Its important to show empathy. A world with out empathy is like walking into school everyday facing people that are  getting pushed around and teased.  If we had no one showing empathy in our school we will have bullies being not respectful to others. You respect others  and help them when there feeling down and be empathetic.  

In the meanwhile we all can show Empathy in and out of the school grounds. Treat other people as you treat yourself and friends. If a person is sitting by their selves go talk to them or ask them if they want  to play. So everyone should be empathetic and respectful  and kind and always put and it will be amazing if I see smile’s on other people faces at the end of the days I will have a big smile on mine.

people hardly heard of the word empathy but now you no what it means so its time we all show empathy. Empathy is very important word and its always good if you see people caring and being kind to each other.  So help people when there getting push around and feeling sad the end.

Immersion Assembly

Light from The Breeze was shining into the hall making shadows on the floor. As we sat down Mr Burt announced, ”Guess what guys. Our topic is Art attack”.

We watched amazing performances with teachers jumping around and even watched their little short films about the beach and the primary colours.

It went on and on until it was time for team 5. I couldn’t wait to see their performance.

Team 5 teachers were dressed up in different costumes looking like famous painters. Walking onto the stage they were holding paint in their hands. They had a big paper pinned onto a wall. While we watched them gracefully painting their way around the big piece of paper, I was thinking to myself, “I’m confused.  This artwork looks rubbish.” . Lights beaming down on them, looking like a sun above their head, were making the teachers sweat.

As the teachers painted we watched an amazing artist painting one of his designs on the video. It was fantastic. I was still confused about Team 5's piece of artwork as it looked like blobs of white and black paint. When they were flicking blobs of paint onto the pinned paper I was trying to imagine what the artwork was going to look like.

Turning their piece of artwork around I was thinking to myself, "What are they doing?"

As they picture was turned we could see clearly it was Ms Jarman, Mr Jacobson, and Mr Burt painted. ”Wow” that's awesome," I thought to myself. Every one applauded for their amazing artwork.

At the end the artwork was not confusing after all. But we all had fun watching the teachers cool performance. It was a sunny and fun day watching team1 teachers to team 5 dancing painting and having fun.

Lorde Royal  Ella Marija Lani Yelich-O'Connor is a famous singer and Song writer. She was born in Takapuna and raised in Devonsport, Auckland. 13 years old she signed a Universal music group and also won the Grammy awards in america and got to even meet some famous celebrities.

Lorde's first studio album was released in September 2013 and started getting lots of hits. My favourite song she sing's is Tennis court and she did more song's and released it in america and also in different other country's. Lorde is a amazing and beautiful and she made lots of cool songs.

Handball

Handball is about speed and strength and powerful aims. They use all there energy to finish the game winning. Handball is mostly played by boys indoors some play on field and courts. Agility and focus of running around trying to get a try.

The game of handball was first played late 90th century, Denmark part of the summer Olympics in 1936. Returned back in the summer Olympics in 1972 But first demonstrated in 1952. First team rules were written and  published by the 1 teacher of the Danish team.

A squared field with 2 goals in the center of each end.You need 7 people in each team, team one is called red and team 2 is called blue. There has to be 2 on each goalkeeper so they can block the ball from getting a goal.

We have to use a strategy to strike a goal by powerful aim and by tricking the goal kepper that he’s going to throw it on the other side. And that's how you know how to play and what to do when you play handball. Handball is a fun game that mainly boy's play.

This story is about Bob who is a builder that lived in a house. He always ate fairy bread to settle his nerves. One day he came back from work and his house was to clean and shinny. So he was finding away to get rid of the fairy's because the house was full  dancing elves that was cleaning after him.

Kabaddi

Kabaddi is aggressive and skilful game that indians and other people play. You need to have the agility and strength to speed threw the kabaddi game.  The indian game a loud's you to takle and defend your selves.


Kabaddi is known as attacking the object but returning safely to the other side.  The world kabaddi is original name kai ( hands ), pidi ( catch) and Sanskrit means holding hands. They have to have a strategy around the squared field so they can win a point for there team. This Kabaddi game have not change since  but  we discovered that this game is 4,000 years old. It is a very popular game in the south asian and in indian villages. Kabaddi test’s how fast you are from getting away from the linked up object.


They use rugby takle's and wrestling skills to get the person down and win a point for your team in kabaddi. They participate  in America, England , Iran , Italy and other parts of the world even new zealand. Kabaddi starts with 4 people linked up. As they are linked up one of the person from the other team has to tag one of the linked up up person. Trying to get to them the linked up person has to either takle them down or hold them back from getting pasted the line.

Kabaddi has a squared field. So the player trying to get away has to side step and dodge them to get across the line. While dodging we have to hold one breath to there and back. Now you know how to play and how to defend yourselves when your playing kabaddi.

Amanda Billing is a actress that plays Sarah Potts on shortland street. A old friend of her called Yvonne Jeffries  was  also on shortland street along time ago. She introduced her to shortland street than they started acting and she became famous.  Also in her character her and t-k haves a baby called tilly they are a little family.


In her character was so sick. Sarah was investigating a sick virus that was spreading around the Area.  Well investigating she was to late to find a cure to save other people and herself. Her fans were so sad that she died from a cold virus but luckily in real life she's still alive.

Workshop- Madd messanger

Workshop is a girls group that we have every Wednesday. In the the last few lesson's we have learn to take responsibility of our selves. We help each other to know our goals in the future. Some of the girls in out team once to be a nurse and a dancer. Workshop is a place that our girls can talk about where there from and share it with the world. Caroline is our Teacher and in the last few weeks we have known our culture roots, body smart, Dreams,  and other more things that helped us. To be continued

Kahurangi

Seated waiting until the Kahurangi show to begin. Lights beaming down on to the Kahurangi group as they came out. Lips sealed as the introduced themselves to us they had beautiful costumes that were designed in moari patterns.

Few minutes after the introduced they played a game. They picked out 3 volunteers Mr Goodwin, Korobeau and Auri. The hole yr six to gate clapped as they walked out. Jordan was one of the Kahurangi members he gave out the sticks, also lucky he put them in there spots.

Twisting and turning there sticks they repeated after Jordan he was doing Moari moves with the sticks. As they were flicking there sticks about they had to repeat the squealing sound sound that Jordan did. Everybody was filled with laughter that we couldn't stop laughing when they carry on repeating after Jordan.

Finally it was time to go. They finished off with a little bit laughter and a amazing song. There voice's were so powerful and a fantastic role model. They were funny and beautiful in there amazing designed costumes.

Seated with excitement the whole senior school were already waiting for the performance to begin. Stage lights were beaming down onto the Kahurangi Dance Group performers as they came out and introduced themselves, saying that they  came from a from a place  called Hastings in the north area.

After introducing themselves they started off with a song. Every body was so silent while they sang loudly. They had amazing harmonies and perfect pitched voices. They sang their Maari song so loudly and very proudly to us. The Kahurangi performers also had a powerful voices well they were singing.

Clapping for there amazing performance we were wowed by how strong and precise they were. started off with a game. Picking out 3 volunteers they had to act like fierce Warriors and repeat what Jordan the warrior’s moves. The had to take one stick each Korobeau had to stand on the left and Auri had to stand on the right and Mr  Goodwin had to stand in the middle.

Well turning and twisting the stick, Jordan did a squeaking noise it sounded like a rat running around. Know Auri, Korobeau and Mr Goodwin had to repeat what Jordan the warrior did. Well twisting and turning the stick the all did the squealing sound. As they did the squealing  everybody in the hall was laughing I couldn't stop laughing.

Filled with laughter well they were still repeating after Jardon the lead  singer and guit

 After singing there beautiful harmonies we finished off with a amazing moari song.

Diving

2. The divers were really focused and concentrated. The divers then jumped off the diving board and landed flat in the water.
3. Body taut and steady on the platform diver balanced leaped into the air performing a somersault with a minimize splash.

Diving

Para 1: Diving is a sport of jumping or falling into the water off a springboard or platform. Diving is a sports that is part or the olympics sports. This event was apart or the olympics sports ever since 1904.

Strength, Kinesthetic, Awareness , Air  Awareness

Para 2: Diving is the most properly olympics sports with the most spectators. The competitors perform the same characters as each other including flexibility, kinesthetic and air awareness. Para 3: Steady on the platform she has to do 1 meter diving  and also 3meter springboard. focus was to perfectly 1m and 3m for the divers. There was also no 1 metre dive well standing on the platform for the Diving competiters for olympics.

Trip To Town

Stepping into the entrance the theatre looked like a fairy tale palace.
it was so beautiful and it also had different kind of designs on the walls. There were 2 golden lions on the sides of the theatre. Lights from the lions eyes flicking blue to green.

Seated already waiting until the show began. “Anamei whispered across Ane and Chloe ” Sisilia look up” . I raised my head up and all I can see was shinning star's beaming down on to the seats making the theatre look even more beautiful. Well everybody was seated and quiet the show began.

Curtains up and the show began.

The animated story was about a little boy who’s mum was a airplane, is he kidding I thought to my self!. Zooming around the air with his mum the hot sun was beaming down onto them making there day brighter. Mummy airplane flys around well her little son drops mail down so that the people can open.

She flyed to the eiffle tower and gave her a big mail than she flyed to the rocky snowy mountains and dropped off loaded ice skaters so they can skate around them. Than after a long day she got caught up in a grey stormy cloud to be continued......

Immersion Assembly

On the beginning of term 2 we had Immersion Assembly. On the first day of term we were seated in the hall waiting for the teachers performance and korero's. It was really cool watching Ms Teto ridding her bike up on the stage.

Well she was ridding her bike Mr Jacobson showed us a move of a friend of his ridding his BMX bike. It was amazing seeing bikes jumping around into the airs. It was fun watching him as he leaps up into the air and his handle bar of his bike came of and he fall flat on the muddy ground.

On the last performance it was team 5. I teachers had a trip to chili , Atlanta u.s.a , New York city and other place's it was really fun watching there video it was beautiful places.

teletubbies

Back in the days Teletubbies were my best pre-school program. It was a British BBC Children television series.  Teletubbies was first on aired  in 1997 to 2001 and than in 2002 it got cancelled which they announced that there were no more new episode produced. There last episode was in 2001 5th of January but After all teletubbies was an amazing episode when I w

as 5 years old.  

AFL

9:40 I sprinted out of class and hopped in line, As the wind slammed the door shut. see outside is grey sky. Tom told us the different kind of skill learnt over the weeks like Drop punt , Speckie , high mark , chest mark and  hand ball. The balls and tom say’s” come in side and sit right where you are. We were siting down I felt butterfly in my stomach the ground was cold.

“We are going to play rats and rabbits, so I'm going to put you in team 1 and 2 ”Tom said.

So we got into our position and waited until he blew the whistle. “Rabbits” he called out from across the sideline, I sprinted from our back’s facing the ground running after Ane as she started sprinting to the other side of the hall.

Ane threw the ball high up into the air, I leapt for the ball powerfully ripping the ball off Dhara’s hand. It was time for Anes turn with Dhara , so I threw the ball into the air Ane and Dhara leapt into the air hitting the ball away. They were running for the ball as it bounce’s across the hall Pushing , Pulling , and running for the ball as carefully hitting it off Dhara’s hand.

It was very fun Jumping , Swerving and learning new skills. After the AFL Ms squires called us from the sideline” line up in to lines we are going back to class”. In our lines ready to go we were waving to Tom as we were leaving the hall.

On 6:15 pm Tuesday me my team was getting ready for the game. The clouds were grey and the rain was crashing down onto me and I can see the netball players dripping wet. As Ms Paget was getting the note board we grabbed our clothes from the bag where our bibs were and rain to the changing room.

As soon as we finished getting dressed we sprinted out to Ms paget on the side pole where she was wearing a jumper and coat. After Ms Paget finished giving us instructions we started walking to court 27. Walking towards our court I can feel the wind blowing so hard that it bushes the rain towards us and it felt like cold needles poking me.

Glendowie Netball girls just arrived and we grabbed our bibs and putted them on. We all said our cheers and ran to our positions and waited until the Alarm rang. As soon as the alarm went it we started defending the other team.

My team got straight in the game zone than we started running jumping and trying to get the ball. The ball was coming right to me and the rain crashed down the wind was blowing so hard that when Anamei went for the goal it blew away. My hands were so numb that I couldn't feel the ball hitting my hand. Ata passed it and passed it until we got a goal. The weather was going hard but we all had a good game. Ms Paget shouted from the side line” Get free and pass harder so the wind will not blow it away”. I slipped and as I went to the ground the rain plated over me like I feel in to a big puddle.

The alarm called and Ms Paget called us and said” bring it in girls. We were so happy that we won. We were cheering on the cold windy rain. We all did our cheers and went in one line and we got to meet the players and as we were high fiveing them we said”Good game”.

It was a cold freezing windy rainy day but everybody did well after all.
